Stir-Fried Chinese Leaves With Mushrooms Recipe

The mushrooms in this recipe is fresh straw mushrooms.  You can use canned  button mushrooms as well.

 

Ingredients

400 g Chinese leaves, cut in strips  | see text review  | 
220 g Fresh straw mushrooms
120 ml Milk
4 tbsp Vegetable oil
1 tbsp Corn flour paste
1 tsp Light brown sugar
1 tsp Salt

 

Method :

  • Prepare mushrooms by cutting them in half lengthwise and set aside.

  • Heat half of the oil in a wok, add Chinese leaves and stir-fry for approx. 1 - 2 minutes, then add half the salt and half the sugar. Continue for another 1 minute and transfer the leaves to a warm serving dish.

  • Add the remaining oil to the wok. When hot, add the mushrooms and stir-fry for 1 minute.

  • Add the remaining salt, and sugar and continue for another 1 minute, then add the water.

  • When the mushrooms starts to boil, thicken the dish with the corn flour paste and milk.

  • Transfer to the warm serving dish and place the mushrooms beside the Chinese leaves.
