Wontan Soup Recipe

|
Wontan
soup can also be served as a snack or part of dim sum cuisine rather than a soup
course during a large meal.

Ingredients |

Ready made wontan skins |
| 750 ml |
Chicken stock |
| 175 g |
Pork with a little fat, roughly chopped |
| 50 g |
Shrimps, peeled and finely minced |
| 1 tbsp |
Chinese rice wine |
| 1 tbsp |
Light soy sauce |
| 1 tsp |
Light brown sugar |
| 1 tsp |
Spring onion, finely chopped |
| 1 tsp |
Root ginger, finely chopped |
| - |
Freshly chopped spring onions for garnishing. |
Method :

Prepare the wontan filling. Mix in a bowl, the
chopped pork, minced shrimps, sugar, rice wine, soy sauce, spring onion and root ginger.
Blend well and set aside for 30 minutes for the flavor to marry.

With a wontan skin on the palm of your hand,
spoon approx. one and a half teaspoon of the filling on to the center of the skin.

Wet the edges of each wontan skin with a little
water and press them together with your fingers to seal, then fold each wontan over.

In a wok, bring the stock to a boil and add in
the wontans and cook for approx. 4 - 5 minutes.

Transfer to individual bowls, season with
additional soy sauce and garnish with spring onions.

Serve.
