Sweet And Sour Ginger Sambal Recipe

Don't be fooled by its name, this sambal or accompaniment is fantastic with fish, chicken or pork - but beware, it is extremely HOT!

 

Ingredients

6 pieces Bird's-eye chilies, slightly seeded and chopped
2 stalks Shallots, chopped
2 cloves Garlic
2 cm Fresh ginger
3 tbsp Rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
2 tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Salt

 

Method :

  • Put chilies and shallots together in a mortar with a pestle or grind them in a food processor.

  • Add the garlic, ginger, sugar and salt and continue to pound or grind until smooth.

  • Stir in the vinegar and mix well.
