Peanut Sauce Recipe - (satay sauce)

'Satay' is the Malaysian / Indonesian version of barbeque meat on little bamboo skewers. The meat, usually consist of chicken, beef or mutton, is deeply marinated in a special spice paste and grilled over charcoal fire. Usually served with cubed rice cakes and garnished with slices of fresh cucumber. 

 

Ingredients

200 ml Coconut cream (thick coconut milk)
4 tbsp Peanut butter
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- A few drops of Tabasco sauce

 

Method :

  • Pour the coconut cream into a saucepan and heat it gently over a low heat for approx. 2 minutes.

  • Add the peanut butter and stir vigorously until the mixture is thoroughly blended. Continue to heat but do not allow to boil.

  • Add the Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce to taste and transfer to a serving bowl.
