Hoisin Dipping Sauce Recipe

Prepared in minutes, this dipping sauce needs no cooking and is great with spring rolls and prawn crackers.

 

Ingredients

4 stalks Spring onions (cilantro)
4 cm Fresh root ginger
2 pieces Fresh red chilies
2 cloves Garlic
4 tbsp Hoisin sauce
120 ml Passata
1 tsp Sesame oil

 

Method :

  • Cut and discard the green ends of the spring onions. Slice the white parts very thinly.

  • Peel and chop the ginger and garlic finely.

  • Half the chili lengthwise and remove the seeds (or leave some for add heat), then slice finely.

  • Stir together the hoisin sauce, passata, garlic, spring onions, ginger, chiliess and sesame oil.

  • Serve within the hour.

An excellent companion for mini springs rolls and prawn crackers.
