Burmese Fish Sauce Dip Recipe

How to prepare fish sauce dip, Burmese style

 

Ingredients

250 ml Water
2 pieces Dried red chilies, soaked
2 pieces Bird's-eye chilies
2 cloves Garlic
1 tbsp Preserved fish paste
1 tbsp Dried shrimps, soaked
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder

 

Method :

  • In a saucepan, bring water, fish paste and turmeric to a boil, then simmer to reduce by half.

  • Strain and discard any solids in the liquid.

  • Pound remaining ingredients in a mortar and stir into the fish stock.

  • Serve with raw vegetables.
