Spicy Grilled Squid Recipe

Grilled meat and seafood are very popular in Vietnam and many recipes like this, rely upon the specific flavors imparted from the open wood-burning grill.

Ingredients

500 g

20 g

Marinade:

2 cloves

2 tbsp

1 tsp

1 tsp

1 tbsp

1 tbsp

1 tsp

1 tsp

1 tbsp

Fresh squid, cleaned

Coriander ( cilantro ) leaves

Salt

 

 

 

Garlic, crushed

Peanut oil

Five-spice powder

Curry powder

Lemongrass, finely chopped

Thick soy sauce

Sesame oil

Sugar

Lime juice

Pinch of pepper

 

Method :

  • Prepare squids by rubbing salt on it and rinse.

  • Slit and flatten the squid sac and make diagonal cuts on the inside surface.

  • Cut into bite-sized pieces.

  • Combine the marinade ingredients and marinade the squid for at least one hour.

  • Place squid on a charcoal grill and grill the squid pieces for approx. 2 minutes or until tender.

  • Arrange on a serving plate and garnish with coriander leaves and serve with fish sauce dip.
