Ingredients :

2 tablespoons
1/2 tablespoon
Tender sirloin steaks, approx 220 g each
Lemon grass, root trimmed, finely chopped ( discard lower 5cm)
Red onion, finely sliced
Cucumber, cut into strips
Spring onions, chopped
Nam Pla or fish sauce
Juice of 2 limes
Chinese mustard cress or salad cress for garnishing.
Grill or pan-fry the steaks for 6 - 8 minutes for medium rare. Allow to rest for 10 - 15 minutes
When meat is cooled, sliced thinly and transfer to a bowl
Add sliced onions, cucumber, lemon grass and spring onions to the beef slices
Toss the salad and season with the lime juice and nam pla and garnish with Chinese mustard cress or salad cress
Transfer to serving bowl and serve at room temperature or chilled
