Shrimp Stew in Rice Water Recipe

Ingredients :

Rice water. ( Mix 8 cups of water with 4 cups of rice thoroughly, then drain, keeping the rice water )

 

Lemon juice or kalamansi juice or 50g pack of tamarind ready-mix powder.

Large shrimps

Watercress or spinach

Fresh green peppers

radishes, left whole

Ripe tomatoes, diced

Onions, chopped

Garlic, finely minced

Cooking oil

Fish sauce to taste

Black Pepper to taste

 

Method :
  • Bring rice water and lemon juice to a boil in a pan, simmer for 10  - 15 minutes

  • Heat oil in a wok and saute garlic, onions and tomatoes, then add this to the rice water.

  • Add shrimps, and radishes and bring to a boil

  • Simmer until the radishes are tender

  • Add watercress, green pepper, fish sauce and pepper to taste.

  • Serve in a bowl
