Filipino Fried Egg Bundle Recipe ( Lumpiang )

A popular Filipino variant of the Chinese egg roll.

Ingredients :

1 pack

1/2 cup

1/2 cup

1 tablespoon

Egg roll wrappers

Ground pork

Prawns, finely chopped

Water chestnut, chopped

Spring onions, finely chopped

Light soy sauce

Black pepper, freshly ground

Salt

One egg, beaten

Oil for deep-frying

Method :
  • Mix pork, prawns, water chestnuts, spring onions, egg and soy sauce together and season with salt and black pepper

  • Place a spoonful of the filling on each egg roll wrappers

  • Roll firmly, making sure filling is compacted. Continue till filling is all used up.

  • Heat oil in wok/pan and deep-fry in low heat till egg roll wrapper is golden brown, making sure filing is thoroughly cooked

  • Absorb excess oil on paper towel and serve with some sweet and sour dipping sauce.
