 Salt And Turmeric Chicken Recipe

(ayam goreng garam kunyit)

Ingredients :

1 kg

3 cm

1 bulb

125 ml

1 1/2 tsp

1/2 tsp

1 tsp

Chicken pieces

Fresh turmeric or 1 1/2 tsp ground turmeric

Large onion, cut in circular slices

Cooking oil

Salt

Black pepper, grounded

Sugar

 

Method :

  • Pat dry the chicken pieces and cut into serving pieces.
  • Process turmeric root into paste using grinder and add salt and pepper in a small bowl.
  • Rub the ingredient paste over the chicken pieces evenly and allow to marinade for 20 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a wok or pan, add in the chicken pieces and cook over high heat to seal in the juices for approx. 4 minutes or until it turns brown.
  • Reduce the heat to medium and stir-fry for another 10 minutes.
  • Add sugar and onion rings and cook, stirring frequently for approx. 8 minutes, until onion is slightly browned and chicken cooked.
  • Remove using a slotted spatula and drain well on a paper towel and serve immediately.
