Japanese Baked Chicken Loaf

Tiny poppy seeds
scattered over the top of this baked chicken loaf are supposedly
reminiscent of sand on a beach, which is perhaps why this dish is also
known as "Wind in the Pines".
Ingredients :
400 g
2 cm
2 tbsp
2 tbsp
1 tbsp
2 tsp
2 tsp
2 tsp
2
Ground chicken meat
Ginger, finely chopped
Red
miso
Sugar
White
poppy seeds
Sake
Dark soy sauce
All- purpose flour (plain)
Eggs, lightly beaten
Some baking paper or foil.
Method :
Blend the chicken in a food
processor to make a paste.
Add all other ingredients except
poppy seeds and process until well mix. Use a wooden spoon.
Grease a 20 cm square baking pan and
line with baking paper or foil that is lightly oiled.
Put in the chicken mixture,
spreading evenly, then sprinkle with the poppy seeds.
Set in a pan half-filled with water
and bake in 350o F or 180o C oven for approx
30 minutes or until the center is firm. (Gas oven - gas mark 4).
Remove from oven and lift out the
baking paper or foil with the loaf on it.
Cut the loaf into rectangles or fan
shape and serve at room temperature.
