             Braised Chicken Wings In Sake Recipe - Tebasaki To Sato-imo

This is an all-time favorite dish that can be served as accompaniment to rice, as an appetizer, or just as finger-food.

Ingredients :

500 - 600 g

100 g

400 g

1 tbsp

4 tbsp

2 cm

3 tbsp

2 tsp

12 pieces

4 strips

 

 

 

Chicken wings

Spring onions (scallions), cut in 4 cm lengths

Sato-imo or new potatoes, peeled

Cooking oil

Sake

Ginger

Dark soy sauce

Sugar

Snow peas, blanched in lightly salted water

Orange or lemon peel

Method :
  • Marinade chicken wings in sake for approx. 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil, stir-fry chicken wings until change color and add ginger, spring onions and just enough water to cover the chicken.
  • Allow to simmer covered for 10 - 15 minutes, then add the potatoes, sugar and soy sauce and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes or until potatoes are soft.
  • Divide chicken wings among serving plates and garnish each portion with snow peas and strips of orange or lemon peel.
