How to make garam masala.
Ingredients |
| 80 g |
Cumin seeds |
| 2 tbsp |
Coriander seeds |
| 5 cm |
Cinnamon stick |
| 12 pieces |
Green cardamom pods, bruised |
| 5 pieces |
Black cardamom pods, bruised |
| 5 pieces |
Bay leaves |
| 4 pieces |
Whole star anise |
| 1 tbsp |
Black peppercorns |
| 4 blades |
Mace |
| 1/2 piece |
Nutmeg, broken |
| 10 pieces |
Cloves |
Method :
-
Put all the spices in a dry pan and heat over a
very fire, shaking the pan from time to time.

Remove from heat when spices gives off a
fragrance and allow to cool before grinding finely in a blender or a coffee mill.

Store in an airtight bottle. If stored in the
freezer portion of the refrigerator, the spices keep fresh indefinitely.
