Beef Strips With Orange And Ginger Recipe

This stir-fry recipes is ideal for people trying to loose weight, those requiring a low-fat and low-cholesterol diet and anyone who wants to eat healthily

 

Ingredients

450 g Sirloin or fillet steak, cut into thin strips
1 Orange, juice only and finely grated rind
2 1/2 cm Fresh root ginger, finely chopped
1 piece Large carrot, cut into matchstick strips
2 stalks Spring onion, thinly sliced
1 tbsp Light soy sauce
2 tsp Sesame oil
1 tsp Cornflour
- Rice noodles or boiled rice to accompany.

 

Method :

  • Marinate the beef strips in a bowl with the orange juice and orange rind by mix the both evenly and set aside for approx. 30 minutes.

  • Drain the liquid from the steak and reserve. Add together the soy sauce, cornflour and ginger and mix well.

  • Heat oil in a wok or pan, add in the steak and stir-fry for 1 minute or until lightly brown.

  • Add the carrots and stir-fry for a further 2 minutes.

  • Stir in the spring onions and reserved marinade liquid. Continue to cook-stir until boiling and the liquid thickened.

  • Serve the dish with either rice noodles or plain boiled rice to accompany.
